ABOUT ME

Iniya is a sophomore from Boyds, MD studying Economics and Immersive Media Design at the University of Maryland. Her interests include digital art, economic policy, computer science in the realm of art, and animation. Her artistic interests expand on human anatomy, and how facial expressions and dynamic poses can convey complex emotions through digital media. She also examines how logos can effectively come across to the viewer's mind. She plans to  to graduate with a Bachelor's degree in both Economics and Immersive Media & Design and achieve her Master's degree in Animation at New York University. Iniya aspires to use these achievements to open young minds and capture emotion in art through animation.

As a College Park Scholar Peer Mentor, Iniya intends to explore ways to expand her artistic knowledge by networking with various artistic scholars with fresh perspectives. An additional important goal of hers is to connect with professional artists and receive their guidance on how to be a financially successful artist, whether it be part time or freelancing (through opportunities to meet with guest artists and other events for the Pentathlon). She aspires to serve her community through opening young minds to art as well as use art as a means to spread positive messages to the public - these goals are what she intends to achieve through her culminating Capstone Project.
